Earthwords?
Yes, words about the Earth! ...written, spoken ...and put together specially
for each project. No take-away menus here!
So what sort of projects can have the Earthwords treatment?
Interpretation projects for a single site - or an area,
interpretation strategies, panels, guidebooks, dictionaries, educational material, editing, lectures, seminars, walks for kids, hands-on events, geodiversity audits, TV and radio, and even advice on
film scripts and locations for Hollywood stars!
Anything you would like that's not in that list? Give me a call and maybe I
can help, or suggest someone else who could.
Just who - or what - is Earthwords?
Earthwords is John Macadam, plus whoever he needs for a
project. Designer, illustrators, photographers, wood carvers, Hi-Ab truck
drivers, cartoonists, stone masons, research scientists and hi-tec equipment,
museum curators, translators, artists, philosophers, ...
The strapline says "innovative
interpretation". Just what is "interpretation"?
Good question! Most interpreters reckon that
interpretation is much more than providing information about a place, so they
will aim to get people mindful of the place.
Why not get in touch if you have a project which you
think could do with the Earthwords treatment? I promise you you will not get
offered items from a take-away menu (two panels, one resin figure, one
interactive ... just like lots of other projects all across Britain .. and the
world!). And if you are not sure Earthwords could handle the project - or even
be interested! - at least contact me. We might have fun doing something truly
innovative!
John Macadam is equally happy to be researching for your
project in a record centre, an environmental record centre, a museum or a
geology lab. So the facts will be correct - and the words will
never be dull! That's probably why he's been invited to speak and run workshops
around the world. Some words to read in his
portfolio, some
biography in his cv, and lots to see for
yourself in the download page.

"Unfortunately there is not enough webspace at this
location to also include a complete no-frames version", says Shawn, "but
I hope the button bar below works for you! And if it doesn't, just to give
you a taste of the site here's the introduction!"
"Earthwords produces stuff", said Shawn the Prawn.
"Innovative interpretation", said Wimpy the Shrimp.
"And lots more: guide books, strategies, dictionaries,
educational material, editing, lecturing, walks for kids, hands-on events and geodiversity audits."
"Coo", said Faye Cops, in a broad Devonian accent. "Can I have a hands-on, Shawn?",
she whispered.
Shawn ignored this - Faye Cops could wait. He had outgrown his
rock-pool and was a prawn about town now. "People can read
a
story about us on the beach, Faye."
"Oh, Shawn", Faye Cops blushed deep red. "It's been
such a long time", she sighed.
The pregnant atmosphere passed Wimpy by. "We can go and watch a
slideshow", he said brightly.

and 'such a long time' come from the leaflet.
